FFMSb Deleted Scenes

Those who went to Artschool of Buda know what I'm talking about.

Happy Hangeul Day!

Yepp, I actually prepared for this.

Sure I got out of paper from my old sketchbook before I got an idea for a hangeul-related (well... sort of) drawing. That's why today's FFMSB is a bit out of stlye being from the new sketchbook with aquarell paper and fancy colors and everything. But still. As soon as I got obsessed with hangeul and started to get into the details I waited for this day to come.

Behold!…

또한 I forgot 또한! Good word 또한. 또한! 또한!... They say it a lot in Jewel In The Palace. Oh that's right! All of this incredible (isn't it?) amount of Korean knowledge come from Korean dramas. Who needs foreign language courses?!

*English translation
Right! Although...
Yes. Jeong Gi Jun!
Madame!
However!
That's why!
Your Majesty!
Hidden Root.

Things I'm Going To Do After My Finals

E16

And today my dear friends is the day AMFIL actually started. Yupp, I'm done with my exams. I'm officially a graphic designer and now authorised to say sentences like: “In my opinion magenta doesn't quite harmonise with these kittens in the sunset and the rainbow.” or “I advise you not to make me distort letter or else I'll have to commit seppuku. Which would hurt.”  But more importantly: now I'll have time for all those things I've planned since last year...

Today I started with “spending quality time with my friends”AMFIL #08 –, but even that becomes hard, when you have so many great friends you've ignored for that long.... And all the other tasks – which are so numerous that I couldn't even draw all my plans by now, so prepare to see some more in the future. And frankly, I don't even know where to start. If I think about it, it seems like I'm gonna need at least a year (considering my working hours…) just to finish these. Maybe I'll need another project called “AAMFIL” (After AMFIL)…

Fragments From My Sketchbook

E23

I've never thought someday I'd be the biggest egghead at some school. Neither anyone who ever had the privilege to teach me.
Well. People change.

Whatever happened to ye olde consistency?

So you're probably wondering if I'll ever continue posting to these sites of mine. Well... Thing is, I'm wondering too.

Here's the case in brief:
  • I got a fulltime job (FINALLY) in January at the local newspaper as a layout editor. That takes a lot of time, like, being there from morning till late afternoon (sometimes even till night) and even working when I'm at home. Besides, I'm new, still in probation, so I'd better be very active. Like very, very active.
  • I have exams. Serious ones. Like there are these modules, and my work for it must be like super-ultra-extreme-awesomazing, because I'll need to defend it at my finals in June.
  • It's my senior year. That means I'll have to start working on my Big Final Work thingy (something like a thesis but less tapping the keyboard, more drawing and glueing and whatever creative work), and learn all those terrifyingly great amount of... stuff.
  • I have some other things I promised my friends before Christmas and everything. Like this great book a friend of mine wrote, I'm making its layout and even doing some proofreading too. So... things like that.
As you can see, it's quite a busy period for me. But fear not, I'll work something out!

He says he didn't say that with such a happy face. Well...

Also, note that – just in case anyone was wondering – I did not cry a sea into my room. But I did feel sad about loosing one of the best teachers I've ever had. And you know what? Ever since he left, life at the artschool just got crazy. Like this one time, we had the replacement of the replacement teacher who replaced the replacement teacher of him. Craaazy.

Ps. He is still there for us as an online helpdesk. Well is he the best or is he the best? Now where the hell has my cat gone...

Do you know this type? The teachers's favourite? Those annoying eggheads students, who always serves as a good reference for the teacher comparing other students and saying sentences like: “Well done, very well done, X. At least there's someone who has read the book I recommended!” …or “You think it's too much? Well, then how could X make it?” and so on. They're the ones, who always do their homeworks, always read the required readings. They have no life at all, their best buddy at school is the teacher, whom they look up to as to a saint. They nod approvingly to every word the teacher says and can't even think of not to pay attention during class. Discussing the deficiencies of the lesson in front of them is the worst idea, and yes, they are the ones who get beaten up by their classmates after school.

The final, most serious phase of being “teacher's favourite” is, when they start to borrow books from the teacher. That is the irrevocable proof that they seceded from normal student community for good.

So even though most of these are not true for me, after being called a nerd and then realizing that I'm about to borrow a book from a teacher seemed kinda scary at first. But seriously, won't you be extremely excited to read the sentences written by noone else but Eric Gill himself?! (Am I being a typofreak again?…) Then again, there is a great difference between teacher and teacher, okay?…

Do you remember the rightly popular Spinster Club? Well apparently not spinsters are the only group that must face isolation. But who cares until we have our little freak-clubs, right?

It has been said though, that maybe it's not representing the people in this picture well enough. It has been said, that it's too feminine, as much that the gentleman on the right look like a “typo-gay”. Though I just can't understand why in the world do people assume it, it is not right to do so. Another picture must have been made, a more masculine one. So here you go:

“… Titles of course can be written only using capital letters. There are certain typefaces though, which are unsuitable for this form of use, since they're illegible that way, so it is highly prohibited. These are the gothic typefaces…”
(The Book and my poor translation)

* I must mark here for the sake of truthfulness and for all who know Eszti, that she never said anything suggesting the execution of anyone, neither is she the member of the mafia, not even the TypoFreak mafia, and she never ever killed anyone. Thank you for your understanding.

This is the 4th follower-drawing I made. It was done for Eszti, whose follow is more than worthy, because it was done "against her better judgement".

About her, well, what could I say? Those of you who followed me continuously, probably know her better than I could say anything new. Yes, she's the girl with the long, red, vavy hair from all those pictures. Clearly, she was featured in more drawings than anyone but The Book. And even if they weren't enough for you to know her, let this drawing speak instead of me, about which event she said: “Noone… ever… ever in life summed up better my personalty in a single word.”

Finally, what else could I say, than she is one of my closest friends, for which I'm even more thankful than for her following.

Time has come to post the first “follower-drawing” (I mean, the good version of it, not those lame photos I've already posted). If you don't know what I'm talking about, take a look at the sidebar on the right. In short, I draw a dailydrawing featuring anyone who follow me publicly.

My very first follower (and sorry Meli, but I have evidence for this) was Tamás Asztalos. If you follow my 365IP from the beginning, you already know some things about him, like at his name even Photoshop-demons obey, or that being able once to follow his lesson was one of my greatest success in life.

He teaches us all those digital stuff (you know, like Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and stuff like that) and some typography as well (or at least he does his best trying to… my classmates are just not that into the whole idea of becoming weird, isolated typofreaks, you know). Besides all this, he is the IT system admin at the school, and he did a pretty good job surviving until now. In fact, he takes stress so well (like staying super-kind and -helpful to everyone 24/7, smiling all day, never hitting any of the school's MACs with an axe…) that some of my friends suggested that he either is a dedicated believer christian – kinda like Mother Theresa or something – or he is doing drugs.

But seriously, he is one of my favourite teachers, and I'm not alone with this opinion.

Now that I've done everything to upgrade my nerd/geek status to a whole new level, and also to improve my grades (right?… right?… ehm…), there's only one thing left to say:

follow me, and I'll write nice things about you too!

This new digital world is crazy, right? All this social media-stuff... You see, every time when the birthday comes of someone I've already wished happy birthday to, I mean, in person, it makes me think of the following question...

(And yepp, I posted this on Facebook. On his birthday. This new digital world is crazy.)
